Acoustics & privacy
How soundproof is an office phone booth?+
No office pod is fully soundproof, and it does not need to be. QAkustik office pods are engineered for speech privacy at 35 dB, which keeps a normal speaking voice understandable inside the pod and hard to follow outside. That is the practical target for calls and confidential conversations in an open-plan office.
What does 35 dB speech privacy actually mean?+
It is the amount a normal speaking voice is attenuated between the inside and the outside of the pod. At 35 dB, conversations stay private for calls, interviews, and video meetings without needing a fully sealed, silent room.
Can people outside hear my call?+
With 35 dB speech privacy, a normal-volume conversation becomes hard to follow from outside. The pod is designed to contain speech rather than block every sound, so calls and confidential discussions stay private in daily office use.
Ventilation & comfort
Do office pods get stuffy?+
No. Fresh air runs continuously at 21.5 L/s, so the pod stays comfortable across a full call block or focus session, not only a short call.
How loud is the ventilation?+
The ventilation contributes below 32 dB(A) at the user position, staying under the distraction line so airflow noise never becomes the loudest thing in the cabin.
Is the fan always running?+
Ventilation is typically sensor-based, delivering fresh air when the pod is in use so comfort stays predictable without the user needing to adjust controls.
Models & sizing
How many people fit in an acoustic pod?+
QAkustik offers 9 formats, from a 1-person phone booth (Tokyo, Berlin) to meeting pods for 1-2 people (Oslo), 1-4 (Paris), 1-6 (Amsterdam), and 1-8 (New York).
Which pod should I choose for private calls?+
For single private calls, Tokyo is the compact choice. Berlin is better when one person also needs laptop work and an ergonomic chair. For 1:1s and interviews, Oslo fits well.
What is the difference between Tokyo and Berlin?+
Both are 1-person pods. Tokyo (105 x 110 cm) is the most compact call point; Berlin (115 x 160 cm) is wider, fits an ergonomic office chair, and suits longer work sessions.
Pricing & ordering
How much does an office phone booth cost?+
QAkustik pricing starts from EUR 2,750 for the 1-person Tokyo and rises with capacity: Berlin from EUR 3,600, Oslo from EUR 4,560, Paris from EUR 6,640, Amsterdam from EUR 8,480, and New York from EUR 12,140. The final price depends on quantity, finishes, and project scope.
What currencies can I be invoiced in?+
Invoicing is available in EUR, CHF, or DKK, which simplifies internal budgeting across markets.
How do I get a quote?+
Send your city, quantity, primary use case, and target month. QAkustik replies within 24 hours with a recommended model, a clear price, and a realistic delivery window.
Delivery & installation
How long does delivery take?+
Standard lead time is 4-6 weeks across the EU. Some larger formats may run longer. Orders outside the EU customs union, such as the UK or Switzerland, are confirmed per project in the quote.
Does the pod fit through standard doors?+
Yes. Panels ship flat-pack and pass standard 90 cm doorways. Final on-site assembly takes about 90 minutes for a typical unit.
Which countries do you deliver to?+
Delivery covers EU27 and EFTA. The UK is available via a local partner, with specifics confirmed per project.
Safety & certifications
Are office pods fire-rated?+
Yes. Materials are rated to EN 13501-1 — B-s2,d0 for MDF panels and A2-s1,d0 for fabric and mineral wool. Laminated or tempered safety glass is used throughout.
What certifications come with each unit?+
Each unit ships with CE declaration, EMC, LVD, RoHS, and EN 13501-1 fire class documentation.
Do I need a building permit?+
In most cases no — the pods are usually classified as movable furniture rather than permanent construction. Local rules should always be confirmed for your site, and placement must not obstruct emergency exits or sprinkler coverage.
Warranty, service & company
What warranty do the pods have?+
A standard 3-year warranty covers structure and electronics, with optional on-site service coverage available up to 5 years.
What electrical features are included?+
Pods include a power socket, USB and data line, wireless charging, and a sensor system instead of a manual switch.
