Hospitals & clinics

Private booths for hospitals, clinics and medical practices

In a hospital, many conversations should not be overheard, yet free rooms are rare. A pod creates a closed space for calls and short talks inside a corridor, staff area or waiting zone.

  • A closed space for sensitive calls and video consultations
  • Set up in about 90 minutes, without building work on the ward
  • Glass doors keep the space visible for staff

Where a pod helps in healthcare

These are the situations hospitals and clinics usually describe to us.

1

Confidential phone calls

The situation

Doctors and nurses discuss patient matters on the phone at the station or in the corridor, within earshot of others.

How a pod helps

A one-person booth close to the ward gives them a door to close. A normal speaking voice is strongly reduced outside: 35 dB (Rw) ±3 dB, test reports available.

2

Telehealth and video consultations

The situation

Video consultations need a quiet, private spot with a stable place for a laptop, and offices are often shared.

How a pod helps

Q Pod Berlin and Q Pod Oslo have a work surface and power inside, so staff can run a video call without booking a room.

3

Talks with relatives

The situation

Difficult conversations with families often happen in the corridor because the meeting room is taken.

How a pod helps

A two- or four-person pod near the ward offers a calmer, more private setting for short talks.

4

Hygiene and fire safety

The situation

Facility and hygiene teams need to know what can be cleaned and what the materials are.

How a pod helps

Glass, table tops and handles can be wiped like other furniture; ask us about upholstery if your rules require wipeable surfaces. Fire classes under EN 13501-1 ship with every unit, see the fire safety guide.

Frequently asked questions

Is a pod private enough for patient conversations?

For normal speech, a pod strongly reduces what can be heard outside: 35 dB (Rw) ±3 dB, test reports available. No booth is soundproof, so raised voices will still be noticeable. Your data protection officer decides which conversations are suitable.

Can we place a pod in a corridor?

Often yes, as long as escape routes, door widths and sprinkler coverage stay clear. Agree the position with your fire safety officer before ordering.

Is the pod suitable for wheelchair users?

Tell us about this before you order. We look at door width, floor level and inside space per model with you, so you know which layout works.

How fast can a pod be installed?

Standard models ship within 2–4 weeks in the EU. On site, one unit takes about 90 minutes and needs only a normal wall socket.
